MINEcraft red dragon

LOve this game, if only i could combine it with morrowind some how...digging for dungeons   hmmm. Anyways i wanted to do some art in that style. SO to start with here is a red dragon block out, onto texture now.

BAKING


Finally got round to retopin and baking the high poly down, got it down to 7k tris. I used Maxs retop tools and they worked out great, well after a bit of practice. Ill be moving onto the diffuse texture next ,I plan on using Mudbox for painting everything from diffuse to specs, even tho it has some problems with the seems/padding.

TEXTURE time

Finally laid out all the UVS...  which in actual fact did not take that long using Roadkill. NOW i get to texture..
So this is kinda a test run texture for how im gonna paint the scales and different surfaces, as the BODY has ALOT of different shapes/edges and surface textures. prolly add more colour to the texture,and add more polys to the horns where I need them, as they are kinda blowing the illusion atm.
I'm enjoying painting over all those extrusions now, as i knew i would when i was extruding them.
